Azure Managed Disks coming in smaller sizes

Big things coming in small packages!

Microsoft has recently released a set of welcomed options for Premium and Standard SSD Managed Disks.

I’m personally excited for these additions simply because I like to work with small images and having a minimum requirement for a new disk (not created from a snapshot or existing blob) is a big win for cost. The downside would be performance, the smaller sizes scale down and can be comparable to a S4 – 32 GB hard disk.

These sizes are currently reserved to West Central US.
